Lynda Lindley continues to explore the exciting flea market and antique faires offered throughout Northern California.？ This time she visited the Fifteen annual French Flea Market at the Chateau Sonoma Winery.？
Each year in late May this popular tourist destination offers up some of the finest French decor and flair there is to be found in Northern California.？ Believe me when I tell you there is something for everyone to be found at this gem of a show!baby pillows
From pottery to books to clocks that look like they stepped right off the stage in a Beauty and the Beast production there was eye candy in each and every vendor spot.
If you like dress forms this faire had more than I could count.？ Many boasted stamps on the fabric from around the world and many were decorated with beautiful necklaces and other accessories：
There were lots of handmade items as well fashioned from imported pieces， such as these birds made from metal signs：
There was pottery and more dish sets than I have ever seen.？ Even the displays were vintagecheap throw pillow covers， such as these beautiful patterned plates shown in this vintage clawfooted tub：
There were some of the most beautiful hand crafted boats I have ever seen.？ Small and large scale alike， in every color to match your home decor：
I loved seeing all the fun unique ways the vendors displayed their collections.？ There were beautiful shells used to hold tiny bobbles and traditional working wood handled baskets for keys：
Around every corner was something new and unique：
The textures and lines on each display were so interesting and everywhere you looked there was something exciting to see：
I was most intrigued by the large collection of antique medical bottles and this “；ailment”； box that held small bottles that at one time held tinctures to cure all the ailments listed：
I fell in love with the bee and insect collection pieces on display.？ The colors and designs were fantastic.？ I went back to see if I could buy the History of Insects board， but alas it was sold.？ I would？ have loved to have put that next to a window looking out at my garden.
And no Flea Market would be complete without some wonderful antique statues.？ This particular one sold quite quickly according to the vendor.？ We spent almost three hours exploring this wonderful faire and I am sure we missed a lot of fabulous things because there was just so much to see.
If your gypsy travels take you through Northern California be sure to check the calendar at the Chateau Sonoma to see what events might be going on； it is so worth dropping in to see what their vendors have to offer.

Back roads and summer time just go together for me. Given a choice of a back road or the main highway and I will always say the back roads. I feel at peace in the country with nothing but fields, flowers, animals and the occasional tractor or horse and buggy in our area. Driving back roads means slowing down and enjoying life.
